Overview
This Skilled Trades NB service helps employers, contractors and homeowners confirm whether someone is a registered apprentice or holds a certificate issued by New Brunswick in order to practice a designated occupation under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act.
What this tool can tell you:
- Certification
- whether the individual holds a Certificate of Qualification (CQ) issued in New Brunswick
- which trade the individual is certified to work in
- Apprenticeship
- whether the individual is a registered apprentice in New Brunswick
- which trade and level of training completed
* This tool will NOT verify:
- if the individual is a registered apprentice or certified in another province
- the location of the individual

* To use this service, enter a first name and last name, along with one of the following:
For Certified Individuals:
- Enter a Certificate of Qualification number from a wall certificate or ID card.
- Certificate of Qualification numbers contain 1 to 5 digits only, with no spaces or letters.
For Apprentices:
- Enter a Client or Case ID number from an apprentice ID card.
- Client or Case ID numbers begin with "CD", "CB", or "AD" and contain 8 digits. Enter the full ID exactly as shown, with no spaces.

Verifying Out-of-Province Certification
If the individual was certified outside New Brunswick:
- contact the issuing province or territory’s apprenticeship authority
