This Skilled Trades NB service helps employers, contractors and homeowners confirm whether someone is a registered apprentice or holds a certificate issued by New Brunswick in order to practice a designated occupation under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act.

What this tool can tell you:

  • Certification
    • whether the individual holds a Certificate of Qualification (CQ) issued in New Brunswick
    • which trade the individual is certified to work in
  • Apprenticeship
    • whether the individual is a registered apprentice in New Brunswick
    • which trade and level of training completed

* This tool will NOT verify:

  • if the individual is a registered apprentice or certified in another province
  • the location of the individual

* To use this service, enter a first name and last name, along with one of the following:

For Certified Individuals:

  • Enter a Certificate of Qualification number from a wall certificate or ID card.
  • Certificate of Qualification numbers contain 1 to 5 digits only, with no spaces or letters.

For Apprentices:

  • Enter a Client or Case ID number from an apprentice ID card.
  • Client or Case ID numbers begin with "CD", "CB", or "AD" and contain 8 digits. Enter the full ID exactly as shown, with no spaces.
